Jesus Christ Supestar TicketJesus Christ Superstar Program Cover Thursday, November 12- Jesus Christ Superstar (The First Time Around)
My soon-to-be-ex-roommate (more about that later) is in the orchestra for Xavier's musical for the year- Jesus Christ Superstar.  For several weeks now, I've heard how incredibly awesome the play is.  Heather down the hall (Hi Heather!) had an extra ticket to opening night, so, I tagged along.
It was opening night and I had heard that there were technical problems.  Truly, there were a few.  The sound needed a lot of work, as Caiaphas' microphone didn't work correctly and needed to be turned off part way through the first act.  Secondly, the microphones needed to be turned down at certain times and weren't.  The staging was okay and I wasn't too overly thrilled with the placing of the musical in the 60's.
However, the singing was awesome and some of the concepts expressed by putting the play in the 60's were interesting, such as Jesus being a Vietnam vet and the clash between the establishment and the hippies.  Jesus, played by Frank Carnicorn, and Judas, as played by Melvin D. Tunstall III, were great.  Pontius Pilate, played by Robert Agis, was wonderful and so was Caiaphas, Jared Troutman.
I've heard that the play was significantly better in subsequent performances.  I'll see, since I am going again on closing night- Sunday, November 22.

 Now, the roommate thing.
Sunday the 15th, I came back to the dorm from being at home for the weekend.  The first thing I heard out of my roommate's mouth was, "We need to discuss roommate situations," as she brought another set of roommates into the room.  The other two roommates, Ashley and Megan, I knew were having problems.  However, I didn't think Amy and I were having problems.  But, Amy talked to Ashley over the weekend and they decided that, to solve the problem of Megan and Ashley, that they'd move in together.  That means that Megan and I would move in together.  Megan, whom also went home that weekend, was as baffled as I was about moving. In fact, she thought she was going to try to work out her problems with Ashley, not move.  Megan and I don't want to room together and I don't want to room with Ashley, either.
However, when I asked Amy about what prompted this, she didn't say anything specific, so, she just wants to move for no apparent reason.  This bothered me slightly because she says it's nothing personal between us, but, when your roommate up and decides to leave, you kind of take it personally.  This also bothers me because I am quite happy the way I am.  I don't particularly want to move.
Later, I was talking to Amie down the hall, who doesn't have a roommate at this moment.  In her room was Janette.  As I was discussing the possibility of moving in with Amie instead of Megan or Ashley, Janette suggested that I move in with her roommate, Stephanie, and that she move in with Amie.  Amie readily agreed to this and when I mentioned this to Amy, she decided to move in with Stephanie.  So, Amie and Janette are moving in together; Amy and Stephanie are moving in together.  Megan and Ashley are still together and I, hopefully, will remain roommate less for awhile.
Lauren, my RA, is being really supportive of all of this and will hopefully let me take my chances on a random person at the beginning of next semester (pray that I don't get a new roommate until next semester!).
