April 25, 1999- Heather's Birthday and Ice Cream Social
On the 25th, our little
girl Heather turned 19 years old. Awww....
The same day, she performed
in a band concert. How sweet!
So, we all trooped over
to the X in front of the Library and got ice cream as the band performed.
I thought they were pretty good. I finally got to see who Norm Parr
is, the infamous Norm, whom I've heard a lot about. The ice cream
was nice and cold and sweet. My friends- Megan, Katie, and
Caron- had their picture taken and that is them above. Note that
the newspaper didn't include any pictures of the band.
After the concert, we
all returned to the dorm and gathered in Heather's room to surprise her.
Katie M. hid the joint present that a lot of them went together on but,
I just kept my present for Heather out. The joint present ended up
being a lot of Hello Kitty stuff that had bunches of Hello Kitty
frogs on it. It was a little travel case that included preadressed
envelopes, a brush, a mirror, and other odds and ends that Heather might
need in Russia. I got Heather a book of frog postcards to take with
her to Russia. Not only does she like frogs, it's a very functional
gift as she can send us all postcards from Russia.
One postcard in particular-
a frog with his leg up on a bamboo shoot- became quite popular with us.
Heather hung it on her door with a little caption saying, "Hey baby!"
Somehow, I don't think Heather will be able to bear putting the postcard
through the mail.
Heather will have to
tell me what else she got...I forgot at this point. J
